Mom Kylie, Dad LC and baby DaKhari (Khari) arrived at Ironwoods Park for their Creative Lifestyle Family Session with me on Saturday of last week (and it was HOT on Saturday). Khari did so great through the whole session, and so did his mommy and daddy despite the heat. Khari is really one of the most adorable kiddos I've ever photographed. He is all smiles, almost all of the time. Even when he didn't smile, he was still melting my heart with his sad face, which he made when we put his feet in the grass. He didn't like that very much, but he loved being on our picnic blanket and that was enough for me!
Kylie, LC, Khari and I started off by the lovely red lodge inside of Ironwoods. We tried to stay in the shade, which helped with the heat of that afternoon. The photos by the red lodge were darling-especially when Khari would smile at his daddy! He just loved looking up at him with those big brown eyes when he would say, "hey sonny boy!" in a sweet soft voice. Mom was another great eye catcher for Khari because he just giggled all day long for her while we were shooting photos of daddy and Khari together, and then he would reach out to her and laugh some more. You can tell how much Khari loves his mommy and daddy and how much mommy and daddy love him just by the way they look at each other. :) It is pretty amazing-and it makes me excited to be a mommy soon!
We moved over to the church building on the hill and took some family photos in front of it and behind it in the shade of the trees. I have to say, the ones that we took behind the church are some of my favorite family photos I've taken! This family is so photogenic and sweet, it just shine through their photographs.

Kara is beautiful. There is no denying how gorgeous her smile is, how sweet her eyes are, and how amazing her loving personality radiates throughout her being. I love her! And I've only known her for a very short time.
Kara came into our studio for Foxy Pinup Photos and heard about our Kansas City Model Search. She applied, and I knew as soon as I received her application that she was just what I was looking for. (It helped too, that she was completely model ready during her Foxy Pinup Session. Her Kitten face was to die for!). I knew she'd be a perfect model for our Kansas City Search.
A few weeks ago on a lovely September evening, we went to Krug Park in St. Joseph's, MO to shoot our Bohemian themed session. The result of our creative time together is as follows. We went from columnar castle, to duck pond, to Japanese garden with shutter click after shutter click. We even discovered the brown recluse. I still chuckle when I say that to myself, Kara!
I am so proud, and honored to have these photos that Kara and I took together. She is quite the model and I am so happy to have been a part of this session with her.
Thank you for being so Amazing, Kara!

Brie and Brian are the winners from our 1,000 Likes Facebook Contest Giveaway! In case you didn't see what we gave away and how we did it, feel free to give this youtube video a look:
This was Brie's entry in to the contest:
Because my husband and I will be married for two years in September. We had a immediate family only ceremony in our dining room. We have never had any pictures taken and even put off our honeymoon until I graduate next summer. This would be an awesome anniversary celebration.
I am so happy it was these two that won the contest. What a FUN couple! I mean really-they are super fun! They brought mustaches with to their session and chest bumped in a couple of frames. They even clicked heels for the camera! I smiled through their whole session right along with them :)
We started off in Westport walking down Pennsylvania, making sure to stop inside the photo booth next to the Dark Horse bar. As we rounded the corner of Westport Road, I couldn't help but stop inside of all the beautiful alleyways and doorways for a quick snap of the shutter. Westport is so historic, colorful, and lively! It matched Brie and Brian's personalities perfectly.
I absolutely LOVED the time of day we choose for the session. The sunsetting is so gorgeous! I feel like all our backlighting photos turned out great. The sun coming through trees in the alleyway is one of my all time favorite pictures! I also love the photos I deemed "the notebook" worthy. Those are the ones where Brian is holding up Brie at the waist and the sun is just shining so brightly behind them. The mustache pictures also made it onto my list of all time favorites! So much personality these two have. I am honored to have captured a little of who they are!
Feel free to listen to this while enjoying a little bit of Brie and Brian's Session. You guys are absolutely beautiful together!
