Our job as photographers is to help narrate the events that happen all around us. We are story tellers. We are time stoppers. We are life's moment collectors, appointed with this task of loving people with our lens! Photography has never been about me as the photographer.

I see posts all the time that say that photography is about the photographer. It gets me frustrated, because I have never thought once that my job is about me. It kind of sells us all out to say that! It's always been about who I'm photographing; who I'm trying to love on and make feel special. It's about those moments we capture; when we are so excited we can't help but smile because we KNOW we caught the beautiful person's personality in front of us. At least that's what I think. So I made this. ;)

What is a Foxy Pinup Session?

A Foxy Pinup Session is a photo shoot that evokes your inner diva! It's totally sexy, completely vintage, and simply the bee's knees!

What happens during your shoot?

You are totally pampered! Our hairdresser Amanda works with you to figure out your perfect pinup hairstyle. When your hair is finished, a vintage makeup look is applied. Then you get to raid our closet! We have tons of dresses, skirts, shoes, and sexy little things to choose from. After you've put your outfit on, we put you infront of the mirror for the big reveal. There you are-a sexy blast from the past! When you're ready for your close up, Hilary gives it to you. You receive pinup coaching with each pose and you get to release your inner vixen for the camera!

How does Hilary edit these foxy photos?

Hilary works tirelessly on your photographic perfection. Your pictures are airbrushed with gentle cellulite removal while keeping your original body shape. You pick the photos to edit and you're in complete control of what is edited away or put in. The pictures will definitely be you at your very best. The celebrities get this treatment and Hilary is determined for you to get it too!

Model Search: Foxy Pinups Oo La La | Kansas City Pinup and Boudoir Photographer

Foxy Pinups: Oo La La

We are starting a new devision of Foxy Pinups featuring modern and classic boudoir photography! This division will be called Oo La La Boudoir!

We are looking for 3-4 women to be in our exclusively Boudoir "Oo La La" Portfolio! 

Sessions will take place at the Courtyard Marriott in Briarcliff during a weekend in November/December or even January/February depending on what works well for all our models!

The session will include:

+Professional hair and makeup styling by our licensed cosmetologist Amanda Adams

+ Access to our boudoir closet (but you are more then welcome to bring in your own lingerie and boudoir outfits)

+Unlimited number of outfit changes per time allotted

+ Hour long boudoir session in the King Suite on the top floor of the Courtyard Marriott

+Shareable online webshow photo gallery

+1 free 5 x 7 to thank you for modeling for us

+Ability to purchase additional images from your session

Note: All prints and final work is airbrushed to perfection!

All this is Free to our Selected Models!

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for 3-4 local Kansas City women to model for us! 

We are looking for all shapes and sizes-hourglass, pear, column, goblet, and apple shaped women.

Model must be 21 or older.

Model must also be okay with boudoir photos being on display on our internet portfolios (online website, facebook, twitter, etc)-we own copyrights in all images created,

Must be outgoing, kindhearted, fun and full of energy! 

Being a mom is a plus, but not necessary! (We just love to spoil our Foxy Pinup mommas! :D)

Session Style Details:

These photos will be classic, sexy and sultry.

These photos will scream Hollywood Glamour.

These photos WILL NOT be trashy.

These photos WILL NOT have nudity (implied nudity only).

We want to keep our classic Foxy Pinup style and bring it into the modern boudoir photography world.

Your Foxy Pinup Photographer's Baby is Almost Here! | Kansas City Pinup & Boudoir Photographer

For those of you that don't know, I am having a baby at the end of June/beginning of July! 

I am so excited and I cannot wait to be a mom! I wanted to post this information to let you know and keep you posted on Foxy Pinup Sessions and photo orders. At this point in my pregnancy, I can have baby at anytime. My official Maternity leave begins June 24th and continues through August 5th (unless I have the baby earlier than June 24th). We will begin scheduling sessions again the week of August 13th.

What does this mean for people who haven't had their session appointments yet? 

If you are a scheduled Groupon appointment (you booked your Groupon before the expiration date) and I go into labor early or if I'm having any complications during these next few weeks, we will reschedule your session into August so you don't miss out on your Groupon. If this is the case and we do reschedule you, I apologize ahead of time for any inconveniences.  

What does this mean for Photo and Product Orders?

Photos are placed in our cue according to the date they are ordered and when payment on that order is made.  We are currently running on this turnaround time chart for those of you that have already placed your orders. It is my goal to get out all current orders before taking my maternity leave on the 24th. I will not be editing any photos or placing orders to my photo company during that time. If you currently don't have an order placed and you would like your photos before August, we recommend getting your order in as soon as possible as June 2nd is our cutoff date for orders to be ready pre-maternity leave. Otherwise, I will be able to get them to you after I come back from maternity leave in the order that I received them. You are more than welcome to place your orders during my maternity leave-I just wont be starting on them until after the 5th of August.

Pregnant Pinups & Print Turnaround Times | Kansas City Pinup & Boudoir Photographer

I'm going to cover two things in this blog post. First of all...

Foxy Momma Pinup Sessions have arrived!!! :D (That's me as a pregnant model, haha).

I'm so excited to be able to offer these new sessions to you! We're going to have a blast!

I've been getting a lot of questions about turnaround times for Foxy Pinup Photo Products. It's then I realized that I didn't have them posted anywhere! As a head's up, Creative Lifestyle Photo Products have COMPLETELY DIFFERENT turnaround times. What you order online with those sessions is what the final print will look like, so it's only a week to get you those products from the times they're posted (at most two weeks for album & book orders). Because Foxy Pinups have a much more extensive editing process, the turnaround times for these orders is different. I made this table for you to show you our turnaround times.

I hope this table helps to answer questions about our process! I do not start working on an order until I receive payment for the order. Like it says above, if there is an order you need before the turnaround time date posted, please let me know. Also, it's a good idea to consult the table when looking at a photo session date! We want you to get your order in time for whatever occasion you may need it for. 

I try my hardest to put a speedy edge on your orders while still giving you the absolute perfect pinup look! You're gorgeous! Nothing makes me happier then delivering outstanding photos to my beautiful clients.

Our Foxy Pinup Giveway Winners | Kansas City Pinup & Boudoir Photographer

We had a lot of entries into our Foxy Pinup Session Giveaway in December, and I read a lot of entries that were just fantastic! Seriously, it's so great to hear about strong women in our society-ones that show courage in the face of adversity. It was our mission to give a special woman, one who had an especially hard year but kept pushing forward, and her best friend a great session full of Foxy Pinup pampering for free! The winners of our Foxy Pinup Session Giveaway were Brandi and Stefanie!

Brandi was nominated by Stefanie and her entry was very moving. Brandi lost her fiance last year in a work related accident and Stefanie is the one who introduced them. After meeting Brandi, I can easily see why Stefanie nominated her. Brandi is so upbeat and FUN!! She had a smile on her face from the moment she walked through our doors. What a sweetheart! And by the way, Stefanie is totally kick-butt as well! Aside from her sweet attitude, she is in the military! Thank you for your service, Stefanie!

Brandi and Stefanie both participate in the Polar Plunge. This is the event in which awesomely brave people dive into FREEZING cold water to help raise money for special olympics. (Cold water frightens me, haha...but seriously). Brandi also helps organize Relay for Life-one of the organizations I love-that raises and donates money to the American Cancer Society.

I speak for both Amanda and I when I say that it was an honor to have met you both! Thank you for letting us capture a little of who you both are, and for being an inspiration to women everywhere! You girls rock!
